Connecting with Our Community
Not everyone celebrates becoming a senior citizen by doing three thousand pushups, situps and leg lifts, but John Morrow is not your usual 65-year old. His love of community causes him to contribute to the Quad Cities in meaningful ways.
The 60-Minute Fitness Challenge for Charity, held on Mr. Morrow's 65th birthday -- January 6, 2017.
The goal was to do 1,000 pushups, 1,000 situps, and 1,000 leg lifts in one hour. The end result was that our school raised $3,500 for three local charities that work on behalf of children; the Children's Therapy Center, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Kids Against Hunger.
The QC Morning Optimist Club matched the money raised at the Fitness Challenge event. It was a great way to celebrate. Enjoy this video showing highlights of the event.
